Video Revolution: A Photocomic
This is an in-progress window into my research on experimental video in the years around 1970.
In the late 1960s,
video recorders became portable.
They left the television studio
for the artist’s studio,
the psychiatric hospital,
and the streets.
Unlike the optical medium of film
with its photographic frames,
video was recorded electronically
on magnetic tape.
It could be replayed immediately,
or even screened live.
